

Upon hiring people, there should always be an SOP where it comes to checking up the true background and whereabouts of the people that were hired.
Here is an interesting report which talks about this topic:
there is a fairly high percentage of false information presented in resumes and job applications ... i.e., 15% to 20% of job applicants try to hide some dark chapter of their lives.2 For some positions it can be as high as one out of every three resumes.
It does not mean that these applicants should not be considered for the job. It just means that there should be a thorough recruitment process for these candidates because the "dark history" could be a decisive point on whether or not that person should be fit in the position that they are applying for.
