
Of course, looking up to successful and popular people as models would be a natural thing for someone who is also aspiring for the same thing.
This is not what makes an effective hire. Don't believe me? Well, here is an interesting excerpt from my resource:
For example, consider a major comprehensive study of top salespeople based on a sample of over 1000 sales superstars, across 70 companies. The top three characteristics these superstars had in common were 1) belief that salesmanship required good skills at answering objections, 2) the habit of being well groomed, and 3) wearing conservative clothes...especially black shoes.
One thing that would helpful in this instance is to find out the "real" skills needed for the job and not just what would "look good" for the candidate.
