When interviewing, it would be advisable that you would keep track of the time in order to accommodate more applicants. This is where interviewing skills come along.
In a span of 30 or 45 minutes, recruiters should be able to know if the candidate would be able to pass that recruitment stage or if they are more likely to be put in active file or a reject straight away. There should be signs which would serve as an indicator if the applicant would be categorized in these compartments.
This article gives helpful tips for us, recruiters in identifying the "signs" during the interview. Here are some of the points indicated in the article:
1. The candidate is big on adjectives but can’t back them up.
2. Your questions take the candidate by surprise.
3. The candidate won’t admit that there are areas he could stand to improve.
4. The candidate can’t tell you the most crucial function of his current position.
5. The interviewee says his present company “doesn’t offer enough room for growth.”
6. The candidate “really wants to work for your company” but can’t articulate why.
7. None of the candidate’s references can offer specific details on job performance.
In the coming blog posts, I'll be telling of some specific scenarios and how to deal with these scenarios.
