Job adverts are considered as one of the most important aspect in attracting applicants as well as in marketing your company to the people. I recently discussed the different factors which should be present in a good job advert. In this case, I am going to discuss with you the different things which should be avoided in a job advert.
Knowing the things which should NOT be present in a job advert is important in order for you to evaluate if you are in ther verge of making a big mistake and wasting a lot of money in the process. Here are the things usually found in a bad job ad:
-Too much technical detail about the job or the company
-A fussy layout or complicated words (distracts candidates and slows reading)
-A patronizing or self-consciously 'funky' tone
-Clever or obscure headlines
-Too many words
-Uninspiring descriptions of roles and ideal candidates
-Too much emphasis on the job and not enough on the person
Better to be informed than sorry
