Here are some of my pointers for both recruiters and candidates during the phone interview:
Recruiters:
-Always have a pen and paper handy or better yet a spiel of the things to ask during the phone interview so that you would be able to mention all the necessary details which should be discussed. This would include the name, educational background, position that they are applying for and related work experience. If they answered the question to your satisfaction then you could invite them for examination or interview.
Applicants:
-A pen and paper is also needed especially if you are going to jot down the address. Upon receiving a call for a phone interview, DO NOT PANIC! Just answer the question as honestly as possible and make sure that you are answering this in a very respectful and eloquent manner. A simple yes or no would not earn you that chance to undergo the next step in applying.
Hope these tidbits were a help!
