Which is more important in recruitment? Quality or Quantity?

If you are already familiar with my blog history, you would know that I am very fond of asking this kind of question wherein I would be able to explore the advantages of these two different scenarios and in this case, in the recruitment industry.
This issue was furthered explored in a journal article in Personnel Psychology. Since we don't have that kind of time in order to come up with "research-based" results, I am going to share some advantages and disadvantages I've realized in terms of preferring quality or quantity in recruitment.
Advantages:
Quality in Recruitment
- easier target acquisition
- faster recruitment process
- saves time and effort
Quantity in recruitment
- more choices in selecting candidates
- enable to have variety when hiring potential employees
Disadvantages:
Quality in recruitment
- limited variety of candidates
- limited choices when processing applicants
Quantity in recruitment
- toxic recruitment process
- no qualified candidate regardless the number of candidates
Well, these are just some points worth exploring when dealing with this issue in recruitment. Personally, I prefer quality in recruitment because you know that your efforts are not for nothing.
As recruiters, which do you prefer?

I'm shouting for quality. It's quality all the way. Why? One of the best things about having a good number of candidates is that you can choose the best. The problem is, sometimes all you get are rotten eggs. With quality, you have the best of the best. In the end, isn't that what you're looking to hire?
