Job fairs or Career fairs is just one of the alternative sourcing strategy that recruiters should implement in their sourcing plans because the quantity of applicants during this event could be a big help especially when doing a "mass hiring".
Though this idea is highly recommended, the venue of these job fairs is crucial when measuring the success of these job fairs. Here are some of the common venues of job fairs:
a. Schools - This is highly recommended especially if your company is open in hiring fresh graduates. Participating during this kind of activity would give a chance to your company to be acquianted to fresh graduates from reputable univirsities.
b. Public Places (Malls, Parks, etc.) - In this kind of job fair, you would have a wide and varied selection from fresh graduates to experienced employees looking for a job. Due to the variety, there is a chance that these applicants are not the ones right for the position.
Anyway, these are just some of the common venues for job fairs. Your company could create a more imaginative venue for these activities especially when conducting a "target selection" for their company. One thing that firms should never forget is to have a registration sheet containing the contact numbers of the participants so that they could get back over it once the run out of resources.
