I realized a very simple way to improve LinkedIn this morning.
How great would it be if you could create and save a search for specific types of people in your LinkedIn network (say, "SOX accountant" or "Unix Systems Administrator") and specify how many layers away from you that you want to search.
Then, if you could be alerted by email or RSS when new additions that match your criteria join your network, that would be very nice!
Right now, I know when one of my connections adds someone to their network, but I have to go web surfing to find out who they added and what they do.
...And in the attention economy, that equals too much work.
But, tell me whenever a systems administrator or PHP programmer is added to one of by one of my personal connections, I'd like to know about it!

Sounds like a good feature add to me... would make it more dynamic :-)
