
An astute, Microsoft-tracking blogger notes the following accidental collision between Microsoft's new marketing pitch "People Ready" and their hostile takeover of the now-so-well-used-why-are-you-changing-things image standard, JPEG:
Microsoft wants to replace the world standard of JPEGs with their very own Windows Media Photo image format. Leave it to Microsoft to try to change the way everyone works (isn't that what they say in their commercials now? lol).
If you don't think this is a well-known format, the term "jay-pegs", referring to this image format, is so common, I noticed it used in the Davinci Code when I saw it last weekend.
