Dennis Smith at talent bloggers mentioned this worthy bookmark to peek into what jobs people are searching for there these days on the jobster network:
The jobster folks look at all the people searching on Jobster.com over the past 7 days and summarize the most popular keywords and locations. Risers are the search terms that have increased the most over the previous week's score. Decliners are search terms that have decreased the most over the previous week's score.
The Jobster Trend Tool is some cool metadata about what their view of the jobsearch world is. Interesting.
Similarly, see trends of what companies are hiring for (or at least posting about) at Indeed.com's graphical job trend tool. Interesting to look at the two sides of the coin.
I punched in the top six entries from jobster on what people are looking for and compared them to indeed's judgement of what companies are looking for.
Here's the outcome:
Jobster's Top Six:
-
engineer
-
customer service
-
sales
-
receptionist
-
part time
-
human resources
