
Joshua Steimle, a web entrepreneur in Utah has an interesting page on his blog for referrals, subtitled: "People & Businesses I Trust."
I'm hoping this is a trend that will catch on with other bloggers, because I think it could be helpful to a lot of people, and I don't just mean those who need the business, but those who are looking for people and businesses they can trust. Here's my list of people and companies I trust for various types of services.
Very cool idea. I quickly scanned the list for his favorite recruiter (nudge, nudge; wink, wink) and though he had none on there--at least it wasn't a competitor!
For me, I would absolutely take this recommendation in-mind as I consider patronizing an establisment. Interestingly, I don't know Joshua well, but since I believe his information is unbiased, it appeals to me.
How can companies make it easier for people like Joshua to 'refer' them in such a manner?
Affiliate networking is too complicated and carries an "oh-you're-trying-to-make-money-off-me" stigma. At the end of the day, it should be wicked easy to simply cast your vote about a company and have it appear somewhere.
