Simon Meth's SittingXlegged won Recruiting.com's post of the week award for the post: Recruitment Predictions for 2006. Here's one of the ten:
Recruitment wiki’s will get started. HR leadership won’t know what a wiki is.
I like the sound of that, except for the part where HR leadership really won't know what a wiki is. That's too bad because the more companies silo their knowledge, the slower and more sluggish they will perform in the new, new economy.
Of course, I disagree with Meth on point #1:
Corporations will rely increasingly on in-house, professional corporate recruiters to fill the majority of their positions
But that's because I'm not a corporate recruiter and he is promoting that... but I will take up that conversation elsewhere...
What do you think will happen in Recruiting this year?

The #1 reason why a company fails is because the "higher-ups" are clueless when it comes to running a business. The #2 reason is because they foolishly give HR the responsibility of finding the right candidates for a position to fill!
My prediction is that recruiting will make a "comeback" in 2006 if the HR is STRIPPED of the role of selecting the best candidates for a vacant job position; it will get even WORSE if even MORE companies hand over the reigns to their HR dept. for selecting the best candidates.
For every HR person you can name that is qualified to select the best candidate for a position in IT at a Law Firm I can name THOUSANDS of them that AREN'T!
